The role you’ll contribute:
A Senior Analyst in the Enterprise Data Services department is responsible for coordinating with other members of the department to implement projects related to AdventHealth data assets while providing mentorship to less experienced team members.
A Senior Analyst in the Enterprise Data Services department will work with teams consisting of developers, technical architects, and other development resources to deliver projects on time and of high quality. These resources will leverage Oracle databases, a big data Cloudera environment, cloud computing in Snowflake on Microsoft Azure, real time data streaming and data warehousing. They will build and support tasks related to file ingestion & extraction, file tracking & automation, and the build and maintenance of custom, curated data sets to be shared across multiple internal and distributed development teams. A Senior analyst will also leverage the IDEA platform which is a custom-built distributed development data lake house platform used by multiple teams and developers across the organization. This position is expected to build relationships and work closely with other team members in the Corporate Analytics department to promote team, department and AdventHealth enterprise data strategies.
This position will collaborate with customers, peers, technical, and operations staff to ensure the successful implementation of data solutions.The value you’ll bring to the team:
Responsibilities:
•Work with team members, systems, and data solutions to complete department projects and goals.
•Mentor and work with team members across multiple technology areas to perform root-cause analysis, write code, perform testing, provide documentation, and implement assigned development projects.
•Recognize and adopt best practices in warehouse development, code migration, data security, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
•Identify and document project requirements where necessary.
•Identify data sources, assist in design of dimensional data models and design/develop processes that ensure data accuracy.
•Develop code to summarize data and calculate metrics for executive dashboards and Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
•Troubleshoot, tune, and support existing data processes and applications.
•Shares knowledge and programing methodology with peers to improve coding performance, reusability, and standardization.
•Work with and mentor team members in design, development, and support efforts in data requests sourcing from Oracle databases, big data Cloudera, cloud computing in Snowflake on Microsoft Azure, real time data streaming, data warehouses and other data sources.
•Work with ETL, ELT and other query tools and methodologies including but not limited to Informatica, Toad, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Impala and D-Beaver.
•Promote adoption of new technologies by setting a personal example of adoption and implementation.
•Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of trends affecting the industry.
•Coordinate data and processes from multiple EMRs including but not limited to Epic, Cerner, and Athena.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
•Extensive experience with ETL, ELT and other query tools and methodologies including but not limited to tools like Informatica, Toad, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Impala and D-Beaver.
•Knowledge of cloud computing options and implementations including but not limited to Microsoft Azure and Snowflake environments.
•Advanced database development knowledge including performance tuning in Oracle, Big Data, SQL Server, and Cloud (Azure & Snowflake) environments.
•Extensive Experience using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
•Proficiency in database design concepts and techniques for OLAP versus OLTP.
•Extensive knowledge of data, data flows, data warehousing, data curation and data governance concepts, techniques, and best practices.
•Understanding of entity relationship diagrams and resulting physical database objects.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to clearly articulate solution alternatives.
•Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks.
•Experience following the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
•Knowledge of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices
•Desire and aptitude to learn new tools.
•Familiarity with Epic, Cerner, Athena and other EMR data models
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and a team player.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to demonstrate mentorship and provide guidance to peers.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
•Healthcare industry experience
•Project management experience
•Performance tuning experience in Oracle databases, big data Cloudera environments, cloud computing in Snowflake on Microsoft Azure and other database platforms as required.
•Ability to work well with all levels of a complex matrix environment.
•Familiarity with the latest software used for front end applications, including but not limited to Power BI, OBIEE, Qlik and Tableau
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent of bachelor’s degree) or higher in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Business or Engineering
•5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
•5+ years of experience with relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
•Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent of master’s degree) in Business Administration, Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering
•7+ years of experience in data architecture and data management with experience in data warehouse architecture
