The role you’ll contribute:
Under the general supervision of the OP Coding Operations Managers, the OP Coding Supervisor is responsible for assisting the manager with the operational oversight of the outpatient coding team and coding processes to include all non-ancillary OP coders. Supervisor responsibilities will include the day-to-day functions, new hire onboarding, team member evaluations, quality monitoring, and productivity performance. Participation in process improvement to successfully maintain ethical coding guidelines and ensure coding standards set forth by AdventHealth and the Revenue Cycle leadership are met. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining equally professional and respectful relationships.

·Assesses, evaluates, and addresses daily workload and queues; adjusts work schedules daily to meet the workload demands of the department.Drives operational efficiency with accountability for meeting and exceeding established goals.
·Assists with training for new and established coders.Works with the Coding Manager to provide in-services and continuing education to the coding staff, physicians, and other departments as needed.
·Participates in job interviewing, testing, and selection of new employees; maintains positive morale maintenance in coding and contributes to and promotes departmental performance improvement initiatives and team member engagement.
·Analyzes productivity of medical coders and ensures optimal use of resources to achieve departmental goals for productivity.
·Functions as coding liaison and contact/resource person for providing customer service issues and problem resolution related to coding.
·Regularly meets with assigned staff to communicate departmental/team expectations, advise of revisions to policies and procedures.
·Assists with the Coding Quality Review Program, collaborating with the Data Quality Reviewers to sustain an excellent organizational average accuracy rate while maintaining adherence to corporate compliance.
·Adheres to HIPAA regulations by verifying pertinent information to determine caller authorization level receiving information on the account.Performs a wide range of duties supporting total Department efficiency and meeting goals.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·At least one year of supervisory experience and/or identified leadership developmental skills.
·Broad-based outpatient coding experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
·RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification or credential
