EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Current BLS required.
Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within the State of Washington
Currently in Junior year of 4-year Respiratory Program or completing first year of Respiratory Program for 2-year academic systems.
Earn while you learn! The Respiratory Therapy Internship Program offers a unique opportunity to receive paid training as a MultiCare employee.
If offered a position in the Internship program, you will be employed as a per diem employee. This position is not eligible for benefits.
Upon completion of the intern program and passing the NBRC RRT-Level exam, you will have the opportunity to apply for any open Respiratory Therapist position within MultiCare.
The program is about 12 months.
These hours can not be used to meet clinical hour requirements for a Respiratory Therapy Program.
During this time, students will participate in the program up to 12hrs per day through various modalities:
In-person class attendance with the Clinical Educator or Leadership team is expected at various dates and times throughout the year. This classroom time will be factored into your scheduled hours.
In-person clinical training in a MultiCare acute care facility- you will receive additional information about the format of the program during the interview.
Candidate will be responsible for scrubs and stethoscopes.
Program/class hours will be up to 24hrs per week during the program. Â During this time, interns will practice the skills and competencies previously learned in the Respiratory Therapy program that they are currently enrolled in.

Position Summary
MultiCare has an exciting opportunity for a student enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within the State of Washington to join our Intern program. Under the general supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner, you will provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, limited to only those procedures that have been completed in the associated Respiratory Care School curriculum. In addition, to clinical duties, the Respiratory Care Intern will also function as an equipment assistant for the various Respiratory Care Departments within MultiCare.
Responsibilities
Provides respiratory care to assigned population under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Care Practioner
Cleans, assembles, and maintains respiratory equipment; distributes equipment and supplies within the facilities; assesses non-stock par levels and communicates needs for ordering process   Â
Assists in special projects as delegated by leadership team. Â Â Â Â
Requirements
Current BLS required
Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within the State of Washington      Â
