The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Practice Operations is responsible for the successful operations of employed physician practices at AdventHealth Medical Group. This person is considered the leader of this business unit and is responsible for the oversight, development and implementation of the hospitals employed physician practices.This person is also responsible for monitoring financial performance, including compensation and overhead expenses, budget and accounts revenue cycle management in the physician practices.

Operational Success:The Director will coordinate, monitor and improve the operations of each practice; this includes flow management, documentation, training and staffing and oversight of all physician practice operations.
Financial Success: The Director will work with Finance to develop financial goals for each practice and/or physician on an annual basis.These goals will be written and part of an action plan that will be the basis for activities throughout the year.These activities include finding cost efficiencies, growing volume, growing revenue, marketing and revenue cycle management. The Director will also coordinate a monthly review of the financials with each physician to ensure the physician understands and adjusts to changes in the financial environment and develop, analyze and review monthly scorecards and patient volumes with Practice Managers and physicians.
Clinical Success:The Director is responsible for assisting the physician in maintaining a safe and clinically successful practice, including coordination of routine practice audits for clinical best practice, safety and documentation.
Regulatory Success:The Director is responsible for ensuring that the practice is in compliance with all regulatory bodies, including, but not limited to, Joint Commission, HIPAA, AHCA, federal, state, city and county regulations, and all patient Medical Record guidelines.
Practice Start-up:In conjunction with the VP – East Region and Director of Physician Development, the Director is responsible for oversight of the start-up of new physician practices.This includes newly recruited physicians and established community physicians.
Electronic Systems: The Director is responsible for knowing and utilizing the computer systems implemented in each physician practice.The Director should have sufficient personal knowledge of these systems to be able to efficiently enter and abstract data for use in improving practice operations.
Environment:The Director is responsible for the compliance and maintenance of the facilities for each practice.This includes routine checks on equipment for safety.On an annual basis, the Director should develop a Facility Plan covering any repairs, renovations or improvements that need to be made in order for the physical environment to meet the expectations of the physician and our patients.
Hospital Participation:The Director will participate as an integral part of the hospital leadership team.This will include participation in leadership, quality, medical staff and Joint Commission meetings.
Responsiveness:Prompt and appropriate response to requests, questions, etc. received from physicians, leadership and co-workers.Clarify and resolve issues and concerns, find possible means of fulfilling needs and solving problems, including working with others.Accept responsibility for problem-solving and follow-up.
Participates and provides leadership and guidance to Practice Managers in the following activities:
Marketing of practices;
Strategic planning for future practice locations;
Physician recruitment;
Financial viability and stability of practices;
Rules, regulation and legal issued associated with physician employment options;
Compliance with all state, federal, local and corporate compliance standards.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·Master’s Degree in Health, Business Administration or any related degree of studies or minimum of 5 years management experience within a health care organization in lieu of the degree.
·A minimum of five years’ experience in a significant leadership role in physician practice management is required.
·Management experience in a multi-practice or group setting required.
·Experience in budgeting and practice analysis.
·Experience in effectively managing teams and facilitating teamwork.
·Experience in managing physician practice revenue cycle.
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Medical Office Manager (CMOM)
Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE)
Direct experience in managing multiple practices is preferred.
Experience in physician practice start-ups preferred.
Experience with Hospital operations is a plus.
