This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.
Duke University Health System - Patient Revenue Management Office (PRMO) seeks to hire a Business Process Consultant who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.
The Business Process Consultant (BPC) serves as the primary technical and analytical resource supporting revenue cycle processes, systems and workflow.
The BPC is a subject matter expert in Epic (aka Maestro Care), supporting revenue cycle third-party systems and demonstrates a broad spectrum of operational expertise across multiple areas of the Revenue Cycle.
The BPC supports the Revenue Cycle departments and operational leaders within the Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) by identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and performance.
The BPC has a system focus and troubleshoots Maestro Care through monitoring of dashboards and key metrics to pro-actively identify any trend issues.
The BPC strategically supports operations by identifying opportunities to improve workflow and effectiveness through projects to enhance automation, quality and efficiency through enhancement requests, report writing, analysis and business case development and data validation.
The BPC works directly with Duke Health Technology Solutions (DHTS) to develop, implement and oversee remediation plans.
Work closely with operational and DHTS leadership and technical resources across all departments to coordinate activities/projects.
Lead efforts to improve PRMO performance through optimization of Maestro Care supporting Profession al Billing and Collections, as well as Echo/Credential Stream supporting Provider Enrollment and third-party systems.
Knowledge of: Epic System (Resolute Professional Billing) Revenue Cycle operations and Echo/Credential Stream system Provider Enrollment operations.
Ability to:understand revenue cycle operational performance goals/metrics; specifically, as it relates to Epic system performance.
Understand Provider Enrollment performance goals/metrics; specifically, as it related to Echo/Credential Stream system performance.
Perform root cause analysis of Epic and Echo/Credential Stream system issues/challenges.
Identify and implement optimization opportunities within Epic and Echo/Credential Stream.
Investigate and analyze information and provide recommend solutions for identified issues.
Develop, implement and oversee project teams comprised of IT and operational resources.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Extensive knowledge of work flow and/or system design is required. Minimum of 7 years of experience with system design, process work flow design or business/systems consulting. Revenue cycle experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of analytical tools, business intelligence tools and statistical packages.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus but not required.
