The Product Owner (ERP Squad) is responsible for maximizing the value delivered by Baylor Scott & White Health?s ERP platforms across Finance, Supply Chain, and Human Resources. This role owns the ERP product backlog, translates complex business needs into actionable work, and partners closely with business leaders, delivery teams, and managed service providers (e.g., Accenture MSP) to ensure secure, reliable, and outcome-driven delivery.
The ERP Product Owner operates in a highly integrated environment (PeopleSoft, SCM, HR systems, automation, and third-party vendors) and must balance regulatory requirements, operational stability, and continuous improvement.
True hybrid position
Employee living in DFW will be onsite one day each week.
Employee living outside DFW, but still in BSW service area - will be onsite one day each month.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
Own and prioritize the ERP Squad backlog aligned to enterprise priorities, quarterly objectives, and regulatory timelines
Translate Finance, Supply Chain, and HR business needs into clear epics, features, and user stories with measurable outcomes
Ensure initiatives align with ERP roadmaps, architectural standards, and long-term platform strategy
Partner with IS Directors, Architects, and Business Product Leaders to shape quarterly and annual plans
Delivery & Execution
Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives for ERP initiatives
Coordinate delivery across internal teams, Accenture MSP, and third-party vendors
Manage complex dependencies across modules (Finance, SCM, HR) and integrated systems
Ensure readiness for major events such as Open Enrollment, Year-End Tax Updates, and vendor transitions
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Act as the primary point of accountability between business stakeholders and ERP delivery teams
Communicate scope, tradeoffs, timelines, and risks clearly to senior leaders
Collaborate with vendors on enhancements, upgrades, automations, and integrations
Support contract and performance management with ERP service partners
Metrics, Quality & Outcomes
Define and track success metrics such as delivery predictability, defect leakage, automation impact, cycle time, and business adoption
Ensure production stability, security role compliance, and audit readiness
Support continuous improvement through automation (e.g., RPA/BOTs), platform upgrades, and process optimization
Required Experience & Skills
5+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar experience in ERP or large enterprise platforms
Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or equivalent
Experience supporting Finance, Supply Chain, or HR business processes
Strong backlog management, requirements decomposition, and prioritization skills
Experience working with system integrators or managed service providers
Ability to navigate ambiguity, regulatory constraints, and competing enterprise priorities
