POSITION SUMMARY:
The Primary Care / Advanced Practice Development and Mentoring Lead is responsible for providing direct medical services to patients of all age groups at the Community Medical Centers, Inc.'s clinics as well as a development, oversight, supervisory, mentoring, teaching, and supportive role for new NPs and PAs to CMC. The objective of this position is to add support to better train and support newer Advanced Practice Providers to aid in their onboarding and success at CMC with the aim of achieving better quality metrics and provider retention. The Lead functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and reports to the CMO.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
CMC Primary Care Provider Duties:
* Provides direct patient care to the target population
* Participates in an on-call schedule as assigned
* Assists the CMO in implementing the "Quality Assurance Program"
* Maintains effective communication with CMO to assure coordination of services with other project activities
* Participates in medical staff and other meetings as required
* Supervises outreach and follow-up activities as required
* May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays
* Travels to different sites of assignment as required
* Performs other duties as assigned or required
AP Development and Mentoring Lead Duties:
* Assists the CMO in the establishment and maintenance of medical policies and procedures for the Clinic Facilities as related to NPs and PAs.
* Mentoring of NPs and PAs .
-With a focus on newer and struggling NPs and PAs to help support them and their success.
-Evaluation
* Monitoring of new NPs and PAs.
-Identify areas for improvement and development
-Identify strengths
-Act as clinical and administrative support as needed
* Assist the CMO in recruitment efforts related to NPs and PAs.
* Reviews and teaches NPs and PAs as necessary.
* Coordinates with other leads and directors.
* Assists with onboarding and Support efforts.
* Identifying and Advocating for NP & PA best practices.
* Working with CMO to implement best practices and changes as needed.
* Travels to different sites of assignment as required.
* Scholarly activity
- development of additional resources & didactics for new NP/PAs
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 35 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
