Job Summary
The Supplier Relationship Manager is accountable for the sourcing and contracting process and supplier management for an assigned portfolio of contracted products or services. This position is instrumental in the execution of commodity strategies for various categories of spend and is a focal point to the business and all other areas of Supply Chain. The primary focus of this position is ensuring that terms and conditions of specific agreements are met are appropriate and negotiating with suppliers. In addition, this position is relied upon to monitor existing contracts, incorporate changes related to internal business needs and external supply markets that can impact contract performance for assigned spend categories, and suggests modifications to sourcing strategies accordingly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Monitors and tracks supplier performance and governance activities. Ensures compliance with contracts and facilitates the reporting and tracking of all contract deliverables and information on utilization, rebates, incentives and savings.
Analyze current spend categories to identify opportunities within portfolio.
Continuously engages with end-users and teammates to know market pressures and impact on internal contracts and to ensure that savings goals and targets are realized for their categories.
Provides ongoing help for requests for non-strategic products or services as required by the business.
Drives performance that results in year over year cost reductions and supplier performance management through the standardization of products and services and the pursuit of best possible commodity/service costs.
Participates in and/or manages Request for Proposals (RFPs) for new or existing products and services.
Ensures pricing is effective and accurate in the system to enable automated buying and establishes root cause of bottlenecks in automating purchases due to contract setup.
Creates QBRs for use by stakeholders in properly managing their portfolio of services as we drive collaboration.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of contract information in source to settle system.
Reviews supplier requests to alter terms and conditions, assess risk and provide recommendations that protect the organization?s interests. Partners with sourcing, business and legal team members on contract negotiations, rights and obligations and RFPs and creates agreements that enable the organization to acquire the products and services needed to run the business and grow in a way that meets the needs of both the organization and the supplier.
Addresses supplier questions and effectively resolves and/or escalates disputes, when appropriate.
Proactively works with supplier and internal teams to validate and process invoices and resolve pricing discrepancies.
